Mindfulness & Menopause – Hot Flashes (Session 1 of 12)

The Mindfulness & Menopause series will guide participants through hands-on mind-body techniques to cope with the symptoms of menopause. Expect to learn how mindfulness is a tool to connect individuals to the present moment, to put things into perspective, to practice gratitude and self-compassion. We will discuss how the skills we develop through mindful practice are applied to managing our health as we travel through menopause. These sessions will include symptom breakdowns, guided practice, and a Q&A with your mindfulness mentor.
Session 1: Hot Flashes & Visualization
One of the most common (and annoying to say the least) side effects of menopause is hot flashes. While the onset of a hot flash is usually uncontrollable, we can use visualization to disconnect from the overheating experience. In this session, expect to experience the power of your mind. The senses and the mind can cool the body with a bit of practice.
