Meet Joan Pagano, owner of Joan Pagano Fitness in NYC, who has specialized in strength training for women since 1988 – training, teaching, and writing books on the subject, including the book, Strength Training Exercises for Women (DK, 2014). Because of the proven benefits of strength training on the skeleton, Joan developed an expertise in coaching women on how to boost their bone health naturally with exercise.
Joan is certified as an Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is on the Ambassadors Leadership Council for the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation. As the former trainer to Jacqueline and Caroline Kennedy, Joan is dedicated to helping women manage the aging process with grace. At age 75, Joan continues to inspire as a healthy aging and women’s fitness expert, proving that strength and vitality can be maintained through the decades.
